African samba: dance movement based firmly on African dance technique and style, in which the interrelationship between the drummers and dancers is central.
WHAT IS SAMBA?
There are differing views as to the roots and styles of samba in terms of the music and the dance. Many claim it was the African slaves in the 1500s that brought the rhythms with them to Brazil. Capoeira is not strictly a dance (is that a pun?) but it is an Afro-Brazilian art-form that combines elements of music and dance with martial arts and it's becoming increasingly popular in the UK as a form of fitness.
